The final trailer for JOKER just dropped

Despite seeming like a really bad idea, everything I’ve seen for JOKER so far looks like it’s going to be pretty incredible. Brutal yes, and likely very depressing, but also, a unique look at one of Batman’s most mysterious villains.

Starring Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck, a failed stand-up comedian who works as a clown. According to Roadshow;

Arthur wears two masks.  One, he paints on for his day job as a clown.  The other he can never remove; it’s the guise he projects in a futile attempt to feel he’s a part of the world around him, and not the misunderstood man whom life is repeatedly beating down.

Arthur’s has no father and his best friend is his frail mother (Frances Conroy) who nicknamed him Happy. However, a series of events that see Arthur bullied, beaten and hurt, he gradually becomes JOKER.

JOKER Trailer

JOKER is directed, co-written and produced by Todd Phillips — The Hangover Trilogy — and is “the filmmaker’s original vision of the infamous DC villain, an origin story infused with, but distinctly outside, the character’s more traditional mythologies.”

Arthur is a man struggling to find his way in Gotham and in this character study, we see just how close to madness some of us veer.

JOKER is coming to cinemas on October 3, 2019.
