Digital Extremes teases new Warframe expansion at E3

While there were indications that Digital Extremes would be in attendance at E3, we really weren’t clear on what was going to be shown off, especially so close to their annual TennoCon fan convention, which is scheduled for July 6. Well, their slot in the PC Gaming Show has come and gone – and DE has provided fans with another teaser for Warframe‘s next big expansion, Empyrean!

Previously referred to as “Railjack”, this new expansion will – as the devs themselves put it – “put the ‘space’ back into Space Ninja”. This expansion will provide players with a new way to navigate the Origin System – a ship that can be used solo or with friends to launch battles against much larger warships. Count us in.

As you can see from the video below, the core is still Warframe at heart, but this is going to add a whole new dimension to the game. Exciting stuff.

We did hope to see a bit more than this during the PC Gaming Show, but given TennoCon is so close, I’m sure DE wanted to keep their cards close to their chest. Still, with an official teaser, and now an official name for the expansion, I’m sure players are going to be satisfied in just a couple of short weeks…

Warframe Expansion

You’ll notice at the end of the video above that players can tune in to the TennoLive announcement via Twitch to receive a free Nekros Prime (including warframe slot).

Keep in mind that you will need to be watching LIVE (not after the event) for at least 30 minutes, and you will need to have linked your Warframe account to your Twitch account.

In addition, watching any of the panels during TennoCon for 30 consecutive minutes will net you a Lotus Ephemera. Free stuff is good!

More details here if you need them.
