Final Fantasy 14 Heavensward is free for base game players until the end of June

Square Enix has announced that it is dropping the price of Final Fantasy 14’s Heavensward expansion dramatically for a limited time. Those players who own Final Fantasy 14 A Realm Reborn base game will be able to get Heavensward free until June 27, 2019.

The deal also applies to those players who own Final Fantasy 14 Online Starter Edition on PC or PS4.

The free period isn’t a limited trial either. Those who add Heavensward to their Square Enix account for free during the promotion will be able to keep it forever.

Heavensward Free

In Heavensward, players gain access to flying mounts, three new jobs and new races.

According to Square Enix, Heavensward deals with;

Ishgard ─ a city-state mired in a thousand-year conflict with the dragons of the Dravanian Horde. Can our heroes uncover the ancient truths buried in Ishgard’s bloody history and help bring an end to the Dragonsong War?

Can the Warriors of Light cast off the shadows that darken the realm?

Anyone who takes advantage of the free Heavensward upgrade will also get access to all content added to the expansion following its release. This includes dungeons, trials, side-quests and more.

To claim your free copy now, head to the PC/Mac store or the PlayStation Store

Making Heavensward free is accompanied by the ‘Free Login Campaign’ which is hoping to entice lapsed players back. Until June 17, lapsed players have seven free days of game time added to their account. More info on the Free Login Campaign can be found here

By making Heavensward free, it gives players a chance to prepare for Shadowbringers which is launching on July 2, 2019.
