Altered Carbon Tabletop RPG in the works

Hunters Entertainment has just announced its new licensing agreement with Skydance Media. This agreement allows Hunters Entertainment to produce a series of tabletop role-playing games set in the sci-fi cyberpunk universe of Altered Carbon

Based upon the much-loved novels by Richard K Morgan, Altered Carbon was adapted into a hit Netflix series by Skydance in 2018. A second season and a companion anime series is currently in production.

The agreement with Hunters Entertainment is for an ongoing series of tabletop RPGs with direct tie-ins to the forthcoming second season on Netflix.

Altered Carbon Tabletop RPG

Ivan Van Norman, CMO and Co-Founder of Hunters said;

Altered Carbon is such a rich and expansive universe.

We look forward to producing an equally ambitious and inspired line of games for years to come.

The world of Altered Carbon is as deep as it is dark.

Humanity is spread across multiple worlds ruled by corpocracies and their infinitely wealthy, ageless leaders. Those less fortunate live in a gritty almost lawless dog-eat-dog world. The digitised human mind is no longer locked into its original body and swapping bodies is commonplace.

In fact, its the only way to travel across the stars. The story of Altered Carbon follows Takeshi Kovacs, an ex interstellar elite commando imprisoned for centuries and finally released into a world he does not want nor recognise.

We can expect to see a crowdfunding campaign for the core RPG manual sometime in 2019 with a planned print and digital release in 2020, published by Renegade games.

Games have always been a big part of my life in all types of formats. I'm just as happy with a deck of cards or a bunch of miniatures as I am with a keyboard and mouse or controller. Any game where there is a little teamwork happening is usually going be my favourite. I'm very partial to a good RTS, RPG or FPS session with friends, a beer and some decent music.
