Final Fantasy XV anime explores Ardyn’s past before the release of Episode Ardyn DLC

The next playable content coming to Final Fantasy XV is Episode Ardyn. Experiencing a story from the perspective of Ardyn Lucis Caelum, players will be taken back 35 years into Final Fantasy XV’s past, before the events of the game.

Episode Ardyn follows the game’s villain “through being freed from an extra-long life of imprisonment and entering the world of darkness, to seeking vengeance against the Lucian royal family.”

When playing Final Fantasy XV Episode Ardyn, players will have control of Ardyn’s power by using demonic abilities and flying freely across the map. Ardyn is even able to move around the map with speed, by Shadow Stepping between points.

The anime prologue above is a precursor to Episode Ardyn and will set the scene for players waiting for the DLC.

Episode Ardyn will be coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One on March 26 and is a standalone, single episode DLC.

According to Square Enix;

Fans of FINAL FANTASY XV will also enjoy encountering familiar faces, albeit younger versions than have been seen before as well as exciting and essential new characters such as the scientist Verstael Besithia and the priestess Aera Mirus Fleuret.

Check out the video and get ready to be bad when Episode Ardyn is released.
