A Plague Tale Innocence comes to gamers in May

A Plague Tale Innocence is a brand-new IP from French developer; Asobo Studio. Asobo Studio is known for developing Disney titles and porting various titles such as The Crew to Xbox 360.

A Plague Tale Innocence stars Amicia and Hugo and is set in 14th Century France. Amicia and Hugo are on the run from the Inquisition and are being swarmed by plague rats, spreading the Black Death.

According to Asobo Studios;

Amicia and Hugo will learn to know and trust each other as they struggle for their lives against all odds.

Part survival game, part adventure and part stealth, A Plague Tale Innocence wants to introduce fans to its story via an episodic series of webisodes.

A Plague Tale Release Date

The first episode of the behind-the-scenes look at the game is titled Roots of Innocence and can be viewed below. This episode features Charlotte McBurney and Logan Hannan who provide the voices for Amicia and Hugo respectively.

A Plague Tale Innocence is being billed by Asobo as;

  • An original, powerful tale following the trip of the young noble Amicia de Runes and her adorable yet smart brother Hugo
  • Survive a great, enigmatic danger in a brutal, unforgiving world. With the Black Plague appeared deadly swarms of rats, indiscriminately devouring everything in their path.
  • A seamless blend of adventure and stealth gameplay, deeply embedded in dark medieval mystery.

So far, A Plague Tale Innocence looks like a new and interesting take on the adventure game genre. We’ll certainly be keeping an eye on this one.

The A Plague Tale release date is May 14 and is coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
