The Fallout 76 Day One Update is bigger than the game

Fallout 76 is just around the corner.

Having completed it’s beta, Bethesda is gearing up to unleash the shared world, survival game on Wednesday.

Following the beta, there were concerns from fans about the longevity, quality and overall polish that Fallout 76 would posses.

In a Reddit post Bethesda thanked fans for their feedback and explained that it would be addressing many of the major concerns.

Which brings us to the Fallout 76 day one update.

It’s a monster!

Fallout 76 Day One Update

Fallout 76 on disc, or downloaded without the day one update is 44GB.

However, when you insert the disc for the first time, on PS4, you’re greeted with update 1.01.

As Fallout 76 is an online only title, without the Fallout 76 day one update you aren’t even able to launch the game.

And here’s where things get interesting. The day one update is a whopping 51.64GB.

It’s not entirely clear what the contents of the day one update are, but it’s likely that it addresses some of the player concerns that arose during the beta.

Make sure you’ve got plenty of space on your PS4 as Fallout 76 is going to take up about 95GB.

Fallout 76 will be available on November 14.
