All-new features coming to Valkyria Chronicles 4, demo available now

SEGA and Atlus have revealed a host of new features coming to Valkyria Chronicles 4 ahead of its release in September. As part of the Valkyria Chronicles franchise, Valkyria Chronicles 4 takes place simultaneously with the first game in the series.

Following Squad E of the Federation, Valkyria Chronicles 4 takes place in Europa. As the Second European war rages between the Atlantic Federation and Eastern Imperial Alliance, Squad E attempts to end the war.

Operation Northern Cross is Squad E’s mission. The only goal; capture the Imperial capital.

Coming to the title are a range of new features including the all-new Centurion vehicle, a new class (Grenadiers) and Last Stand feature.

With the Centurion, players can radio for assistance, call for artillery and turn the tide of battle in their favour. Grenadiers are a new soldier class and can cause havoc on the battlefield. Enemy Grenadiers will need to be avoided as their mortar fire is deadly, but thankfully, you can use your own Grenadiers against the enemy.

Also coming to Valkyria Chronicles 4 is the Last Stand feature. Last Stand allows Claude or Riley to fight on from the edge of death and push themselves to the limit.

Rendered using the Canvas Engine, Valkyria Chronicles 4 includes a huge variety of weather effects including sun, snow, rain and more. And, as a first for Valkyria Chronicles, will include third-person shooting mechanics.

A free demo for the title is now available on PS4, Switch and Xbox One.

The full game releases on September 25.
