The start date for the Black Ops 4 Blackout beta has been announced. Starting next month, first on PS4, players will be able to take part in the Blackout beta in the second week of September.

The announcement was made with an accompanying teaser, which suggests that players will be able to tackle Black Ops 4 Blackout mode solo, in pairs and groups of four.

Blackout is Black Ops 4’s Battle Royale mode, though it’s been given the Call of Duty treatment.

Blackout was announced at the Black Ops 4 reveal event, though it had been speculated about prior to the announcement. Blackout will feature a massive field in which players will battle others using characters, vehicles and weapons from the Black Ops franchise.

The map will also include familiar locations and maps from Call of Duty scattered throughout.

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Blackout beta kicks off on PS4 on September 10, 2018. It’s not yet known when it will come to Xbox One and PC. Based on the multiplayer beta, it’s likely that it will come to the other platforms a week later.

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 launches on October 12.
