Black Ops 4 Zombies has three chapters at launch

When a new Call of Duty launches, fans know that they’re going to be getting a new Zombies mode. Call of Duty Black Ops 4 is no exception. This time though, Black Ops 4 Zombies has multiple chapters on day one.

With previous releases, Zombies has included one chapter at launch with more released periodically as paid DLC. However, Treyarch is going all out with Black Ops 4 Zombies giving players access to three chapters off the bat.

It’s unclear if this means that the mode will see more chapters than ever before, but it’s nice to have some variety right away.

Black Ops 4 Zombies

Activision has also outlined what to expect from Black Ops 4 Zombies’ story.

Scarlett Rhodes is out to solve her eccentric father’s mysterious disappearance.

With the help of three loyal outcasts, she’ll fight waves of the undead and uncover a prized relic wielding an extraordinary power that threatens all of humanity.

At launch, players will be able to tackle three chapters of Scarlett’s story; XI, Voyage of Despair, and Blood of the Dead. An all-new cast of characters and an all-new story are waiting for players in Black Ops 4 Zombies.

At this stage, it’s unknown who is playing and voicing the cast, but there is an emphasis on roguish adventurers.

Historical Zombie Slaying

From the story trailer, below, it seems that the cast of Black Ops 4 Zombies is going to be time-travelling in their adventure. XI appears to be set in ancient Rome with the heroes taking part in a Zombie Gladiator battle.

Voyage of Despair is set onboard the Titanic and seems to be giving us an alternate take on history.

In both of these chapters, the characters wield all-new weapons in addition to the standard guns seen in Call of Duty. In Voyage of Despair, Scarlett has a segmented whip-sword and in XI another character wields a spiked Chakram and dagger.

It looks as though Black Ops 4 Zombies is going to be absolutely huge and introduce all-new ways to play. This is a good thing.

Check out the trailer below.

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 will launch for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on October 12.
