Yakuza 3, 4 and 5 are being remastered for PS4

Yakuza Kiwami 2 is due for release in Australia in a few months, but we’ve just learned that Yakuza 3, 4 and are all being remastered and released for PS4.

Yazkua 3 will be the first to be released and will be available in Japan on August 9. Yakuza 4 will be launching in Spring (Fall in the Northern Hemisphere) and Yakuza 5 is launching in 2019.

Yakuza Remaster

The information comes from the latest issue of Degenki PlayStation (via Ryokutya2089) which states that all three games will feature improved resolution and framerate.

The information in Famitsu only confirms a release of the Yakuza Remaster titles in Japan, though it’s likely that they’ll make their way to the west.

It doesn’t look as though Yakuza 3, 4 and will get the Kiwami subtitle as Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 are full remakes of PS2 games.

Yakuza 3, 4 and were released for PS3 so remastering the titles would likely be enough to have them re-released. It’s a shame though as I’d love to play Yakuza 3 through again with the new Dragon Engine.

We recently covered Yakuza 6 and called it “one of the best game’s of this generation.”

We’ll bring you more news on the Yakuza Remaster games as it becomes available.
