Fortnite’s Self Refund feature has been temporarily disabled

Fortnite update 3.6 was only released a few hours ago, but Epic Games has already wound back one of the new features. The Fortnite Self Refund function, which was added as part of update 3.6, has been temporarily disabled.

According to Epic Games, an issue with Fortnite Self Refund has been discovered which required it to be disabled.

The disabling of the feature is planned to be temporary with Epic promising a fix as soon as possible.

Fortnite Self Refund

The Fortnite Self Refund feature was designed to allow a player to return purchased cosmetics for V-Bucks. A player would only be able to return three items over the lifetime of an individual account.

The patch notes for the Self Refund feature stipulate that only purchases made within the past 30-days are eligible. Players can return;

  • Emotes
  • Gliders
  • Harvesting Tools
  • Back Bling
  • Outfits

The Self Refund feature does not allow players to return any of the following;

  • Battle Pass
  • Battle Pass Tiers
  • Starter Pack
  • Founder’s Pack
  • Founder’s Pack Upgrades
  • Loot Llamas (Save the World)
  • Event and Weekly Items (Save the World)

What went wrong?

Unfortunately, it’s not immediately clear why Epic disabled the feature. In a tweet, the developer simply stated that there was an issue and that it would be working to fix it.

Epic has been diligent in fixing issues in Fortnite and doing so as quickly as possible. It’s likely the disabling of the Self Refund feature will be a short-term measure and that players will be able to take advantage of it again soon.

Fortnite is available now.
