Details emerge on Powerful and Defensive characters in Mario Tennis Aces, new screenshots revealed

Nintendo has released a bunch of new Mario Tennis Aces screenshots, along with details on two character types in the game.

The Mario Tennis Aces screenshots focus on the characters detailed and include Waluigi, Wario, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Chain Chomp and Bowser Jr.

Alongside the already detailed All-Round and Technical characters, the Defensive and Powerful ones offer players different ways to play.

Mario Tennis Aces Screenshots and Details

According to Nintendo, Powerful characters move slowly but hit the ball so hard that it moves with lightning speed. For players who want to keep their opponent on their toes with a strong offence, a Powerful Character may be the way to go.

The Powerful Characters in the game include Donkey Kong, Bowser, Wario and Chain Chomp. In order to get the best of Powerful Characters, players will need to make them cross the court with their shots. However, if the Powerful Character has mastered the trick shot, you might still be in trouble.

Even though there are four Powerful Characters, it’s important to note that every character has their own quirks. They all play differently and depending on their height and weight, they will have traits outside of their class. Every character will have different levels of effectiveness when it comes to returning shots.

A Good Offence

The Defensive Characters detailed by Nintendo are Waluigi and Bowser Jr. Both these characters have long limbs, thanks to Bowser Jr’s clown car, and can use them block and attack any and all incoming shots.

Defensive Characters are most comfortable in the centre of the court. From there they have the maximum amount of horizontal range to defend against incoming shots.

Zoning and Special Shots are the best strategy for players to use to deal with Defensive Characters. Nintendo has promised to detail Tricky and Speedy characters soon.

Mario Tennis Aces will be available for Switch on June 22, 2018.
