Yakuza Kiwami 2 rated in Australia, receives R18+ for High Impact Sex

Yakuza Kiwami 2 has been rated R18+ in Australia for, among other things, High Impact Sex.

The remake of 2006’s Yakuza 2 will launch in Australia on August 28, 2018, but only for players 18 years and over. The consumer advice added to the rating by Australia’s Classification Board reads “Sexual activity related to incentives and rewards.”

The High Impact Sex and consumer advice are likely referring to the Host Club and Gravure minigames.

Yakuza Kiwami 2 rated in Australia

Yakuza 2 was released in 2006 and with the remake using the new Dragon engine, things have certainly been upped in the realism stakes.

In Yakuza Kiwami 2, players can take part in the Host Club mini-game which sees Kiryu becoming a host and wooing a handful of businesswomen. As I’ve yet to play Yakuza Kiwami 2, I’m not certain if there are sexy rewards for completing these mini-games, but I’m willing to bet that there is.

New to the remake is the Gravure minigame, which is essentially the same as the Live Chat minigame in Yakuza 6. Kiryu can chat with girls and if he succeeds, they will get into sexy poses and undress a little.

We also know that in the original Yakuza 2 there was a substantial romantic subplot, which may be even further developed in the remake.

Yakuza Kiwami 2 Sexy Times

Aside from the High Impact Sex, Yakuza Kiwami 2 also features Strong Impact Themes and Violence, Moderate Impact Language and Very Mild Impact Nudity.

Being a Yakuza game, the violence, language and themes are all part and parcel. The nudity is likely referring to the Gravure and Hostess games as well as the new minigame in which Kiryu becomes a male model and poses with his shirt off.

The Yakuza Kiwami 2 rating in Australia is not surprising considering Yakuza 6 was also rated R18+ for the same reasons. The original Yakuza 2 was rated MA15+.

Yakuza Kiwami 2 will be available on August 28, exclusively for PS4.
