Destiny 2 DLC Warmind launching at the beginning of May

Bungie has announced that with the beginning of Season 3, Destiny 2 DLC Warmind will be launching.

Warmind is the second Destiny 2 DLC and has been announced as part of the revised Destiny 2 development roadmap.

Many of the much-sought, changes to Destiny 2, which ironically make it more like the first Destiny, won’t be launching until Season 4. However, the roadmap does show that there is a lot on the horizon for Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 DLC Warmind

On May 8, at the beginning of Season 3, the Destiny 2 DLC Warmind will be released. Bungie says Warmind will;

Send you to new places to meet new heroes and battle new enemies. You’ll earn new loot and master new activities

The teaser image shows us a Warmind, which is most likely Rasputin. But details are very scarce for now. Bungie has promised that more info will be forthcoming in a reveal stream on April 24

Rasputin looms large in Destiny lore and is suspected to be the reason the Traveller was damaged stuck orbiting Earth for so long. Maybe we’ll learn more when the Destiny 2 DLC Warmind is released.

To bring back the excitement of playing Destiny, Bungie is rolling out weapon changes from Season 4.

Our goals for these features are to give you more control over how you configure your loadouts in Destiny 2 and give you more reasons to play the game over time.

We also want to bring back those exciting moments when you acquire the perfect weapon.

Bungie is promising that from Season 4 onwards, players can expect weapon randomisation, weapon slot changes, gear collections, and records. This is a much-needed change and will hopefully bring the community back.

Destiny 2 Crucible Updates

In addition to the announcement of Warmind, Bungie is announcing changes to Crucible.

At the beginning of Season 3, all of the new multiplayer maps from Warmind and Curse of Osiris will be released to all Destiny 2 players regardless of if they own the expansions or not.

The new maps will be available across “Quickplay, Competitive, Trials of the Nine, Iron Banner, as well as the new weekly rotators that include Rumble and Mayhem.”

Private matches will also be introduced, but to play Crucible maps in private, players will need to have purchased the Expansions.

Destiny 2 has struggled to maintain a community due to the overwhelming changes made to the game. The most recent update did see players returning, but is it all a little too late?

Stay tuned for more info on Destiny 2, Warmind and the weapon changes coming in Season 4.
