Is Activision teasing the Spyro Remaster?

In February, we reported on rumours that a Spyro remaster was in the works. The Spyro remaster was rumoured to include the first three games and be exclusive to PS4 for a year.

Like the Crash Bandicoot remaster, the Spyro remaster would come from Activision, who now owns the rights to the purple dragon.

It was rumoured to be released in September 2018, which marks the 20th anniversary of Spyro The Dragon.

Is the Spyro remaster coming?

This is where things get interesting.

Associate News Editor at IGN Jonathon Dornbush tweeted about a surprise package he’d received today.

The package was a purple, scaly egg from someone named Falcon McBob. The note that came with the egg reads “Something is about to hatch” and Falcon McBob is the name currently attached to the unverified @SpyroTheDragon Twitter account.

All of this is conjecture, but the evidence is pretty compelling.

According to the rumours, the Spyro remaster was supposed to be announced in March, but this obviously didn’t happen.

Will we see Spyro at PAX East?

Stay tuned.
