GWENT adds an Arena mode in latest update

CD Projekt Red has announced that it has added a new mode to GWENT. The GWENT Arena mode will be familiar to players who’ve spent any time with other CCGs.

Like with HearthStone, in the GWENT Arena mode, players draft a deck from the entire GWENT collection in a bid to create the best one possible.

After drafting, players are pitted against each other with the more wins taken, the better rewards received.  CD Projekt Red has made sure that the GWENT Arena mode is different to others though.

Decks in Arena follow their own set of rules, separate from other game modes.

When building your army, you can use cards from all playable factions, and as many copies of a single card as you wish.

You are able to add a total of 26 cards to your deck (each chosen out of 4 random cards from GWENT’s entire collection), and a Leader.

The GWENT Arena mode encourages players to think creatively and design decks that their opponents will never see coming.

To take part in the GWENT Arena mode, players will need to purchase entry by spending Mirror Shards. These special tickets are purchasable with either in-game or real-world currency.

Each Mirror Shard costs $1.99 USD or 150 Ore. From now until the launch of the GWENT Arena Mode on March 7, all players who log in will receiver 3 Mirror Shards.

GWENT is available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
