Microsoft announces four new Xbox One X enhanced Xbox 360 games

Microsoft has added four Xbox One X enhanced Xbox 360 games to the backwards compatibility program.

Right now, Xbox One X owners can enjoy improved performance and graphics for The Witcher 2, Crackdown, Forza Horizon and Fable Anniversary.

In addition to the these four new Xbox One X enhanced Xbox 360 games, Microsoft has added a brand-new graphics setting for backwards compatible games.

When playing Xbox One X enhanced Xbox 360 games, players have the option to play them in their original form or with the enhancements switched on. By default the enhancements are turned on and provide;

  • Higher resolution,
  • 9X the pixel count
  • Increased texture details
  • Antialiasing

With the addition of the four newest Xbox One X enhanced Xbox 360 games, the total number now tallies 11. The available enhanced games are;


To change the Xbox One X enhancement settings you’ll need to follow these steps as provided by Microsoft. Changing the setting will require the game to be restarted.

  1. Press “View” and “Menu” buttons on the controller to pull up the Xbox 360 guide

  2. Navigate to “Settings” blade

  3. Select “Xbox One X Settings”

  4. Select to optimize for “Graphics” or “Performance”

Microsoft has committed to backwards compatibility with Xbox One and so far the library includes more than 460 Xbox 360 games, 11 Xbox One X enhanced Xbox 360 games and 13 Original Xbox games.
