Deck13 announces The Surge 2 coming to consoles and PC in 2019

Developer Deck13 has announced on Twitter that a sequel to the Dark Souls inspired The Surge will be released in 2019. Focus Home Interactive will be publishing and distributing The Surge 2 with Deck13 on development duties.

At the time of writing, only a single tweet from Deck13 has been forthcoming. The tweet claims that The Surge 2 will feature a “devastated city, more brutal combat, expanded limb-targeting system, more abilities and a bigger arsenal.” The Surge takes its inspiration from the Dark Souls series of games and was Deck13’s follow up to the well-received Lords of the Fallen.

RELATED: THE SURGE REVIEW

When we reviewed The Surge in 2017 we said, “The universe and lore are really interesting. It’s really light on for narrative content, on the surface, but if you dig, there’s plenty to find. The Surge is excellent. If you’re jonesing for something to take the edge of your Souls addiction then The Surge will definitely do the job.”

Rating it a 7.5 out of 10 we certainly felt there was room for improvement, but overall The Surge was a great base for Deck13 to build upon. We’ll follow all the developments regarding The Surge 2 and bring you everything we know.

The Surge 2 will be released for consoles and PC in 2019.
