PlayStation Australia announces its playable games at PAX Aus

PlayStation Australia has announced the games attendees will be able to play on the PAX Aus show floor this year. Both PlayStation 4 Pro and PlayStation VR will be playable, with a variety of games available for each.

In addition to playable games, PlayStation Australia is also supporting a game photography exhibition which features photographs from Horizon: Zero Dawn. Tim Stobo, Guerrilla Games’ Principal Game Designer, will also be in attendance at PAX Aus 2017. He’ll be taking part in three panels over the weekend, exploring Horizon: Zero Dawn and the upcoming expansion, “The Frozen Wilds.”

PSVR Games

While you’re waiting to attend any, or all, of the above panels, these are the games you’ll be able to play on PSVR.

Gran Turismo Sport – Playable on both PSVR and PS4 Pro, Gran Turismo Sport is a showcase for the power of PlayStation 4 and is the first Gran Turismo title to be released for this generation of consoles. Read our review here.

Skyrim VR – Skyrim VR will be released on November 17, so if you want to try before you buy, PAX Aus is your best chance. Skyrim VR allows players to explore the entirety of the original game, in first-person, using the PSVR headset.

MONSTER OF THE DEEP: FINAL FANTASY XV – Coming to PlayStation VR in November is the story-driven, fishing expedition game; Monster of the Deep: FInal Fantasy XV.

Players will join Noctis and his crew on a fishing trip across a number of locations throughout Eos. In the story mode, players will come face to face with the monsters that swim beneath the surface. Free-fishing mode lets players put their feet up and take part in a range of fishing challenges.

Bravo Team – Bravo Team is a cover-based FPS built around teamwork. It’s set in a fictional modern Eastern European city under siege. Players will be thrown into devastatingly intense firefights that’ll require both skill and tactics to survive.

To play PSVR games, PlayStation Australia recommends you pre-book an appointment on the website.

PS4 Pro

Detroit: Become Human – Get your first chance to go hands-on with the latest from David Cage and Quantic Dream. Coming out in 2018, Detroit: Become Human has players assume the role of Kara, an android trying to fit in in a hostile human world.

God of War – Go hands-on with Kratos’ new, Norse flavoured adventure. See him struggle in this new world and try to be a better man for the sake of his son.

Monster Hunter World – Capcom’s latest Monster Hunter features an all-new region known only as the New World. Explore this new region and hunt the brand new and dangerous monsters you find there.

PS4 PlayLink titles will also be available to play throughout the show. They include Hidden Agenda, That’s You!, Knowledge is Power and Frantics.

PlayStation Australia will be in attendance at PAX Aus throughout the show. What game are you most looking forward to trying this weekend?

I've been playing games for the past 27 years and have been writing for almost as long. Combining two passions in the way I'm able is a true privilege. PowerUp! is a labour of love and one I am so excited to share.
