Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Guide – How to beat Challenge 1-3 – Quantum Leap

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is available now on Nintendo Switch. Aside from the story, there is plenty to sink your teeth into. A huge range of content lies hidden by simply replaying previous worlds and levels.

These challenges appear on the map as a Toad Rabbid waving a flag. They start out easily enough; kill five enemies, escort Toad etc. It doesn’t take long though for Mario + Rabbids to crank up the difficulty. The first challenge I really struggled with was Challenge 1-3 – Quantum Leap.

Challenge 1-3 – Quantum Leap
Reach the area within one move

This challenge is the first proper puzzle challenge in the game. You’re tasked with reaching a location on the map within one turn. The problem is that your characters are spread across the map and there’s no way to TeamJump or boost the distance you can travel.

So how are you supposed to complete this challenge? Luckily, PowerUp! is here to help.

On starting the challenge you should notice that one of your characters is located near the two ice block wielding Rabbids. One is down the path to your right and one is on the other side. This third character is close to the checkpoint, but not close enough.

In the video, you can see that my characters are Mario, Rabbid Peach and Luigi respectively. To get to the checkpoint, you need to make the giant Rabbids attack you. Their attacks will be critical hits and cause you to bounce. The difficult part is learning how to get them into the right spot.

Taunt those Rabbids

The first thing you’ll need to do is walk your second character (Rabbid Peach) all the way down along the left-hand side of the path until you’ve gone as far as she can. Once you’re there shoot the giant Rabbid opposite you. Make sure you shoot the Rabbid that is furthest away.

If you get a critical hit, restart the challenge. If the giant Rabbids are bounced or set on fire and move away from the path shown in the video then you won’t be able to succeed.

After you have shot the Rabbid, move your first character (Mario) in front of the Rabbid and shoot him. He will counter-attack and bounce you towards the checkpoint. Now press Y and give the enemy their turn. The other giant Rabbid will walk towards you and hit you with his ice block. You’ll be sent sailing over the river and land safely on the other side, on the checkpoint.

Voila.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is exclusive to Switch and available now.
