Destiny 2 looks set to give Guardians “The Taken King” subclasses

It is all but confirmed at this point that Guardians in Destiny 2 will have access to a third subclass. Footage from live-streams, uploaded videos and images of leaks have sent the Destiny subreddit into a flurry.

On patrol, Guardians will be able to discover Hunter, Warlock and Titan Relics which will need to be charged up in order to gain a “lost power.” On discovering a relic, the player receives a message that reads, “You have found an object filled with lost power. This artefact is one of the keys to regaining your lost power. It has been added to your SUBCLASS inventory.”

It’s important to note that the game specifically mentions the subclass inventory. The relics are a Fractured Arrow with the Void emblem, a Cracked Talisman with the Arc emblem and a Melted Hammer with the Solar emblem. These specifically seem to be calling out the three subclasses added into Destiny for “The Taken King”; Nightstalker, Stormcaller and Sunbreaker.

Another image shared on the subreddit show what appears to be a mission objective notification, requiring players to charge up their lost subclass by defeating enemies and fighting in public events.

Finally, an image was shared showing a Guardian playing as the Stormcaller subclass.

Just how different the old subclasses are and what changes Bungie has made to them remains to be seen. It’s exciting to know that these three classes will be in the game and I can’t wait to take them all for a spin.

Destiny 2 will be available for PS4 and Xbox One on September 6 and on PC on October 24.
