Final Fantasy XV’s universe keeps on expanding

Square Enix has announced a huge expansion of Final Fantasy XV’s universe at Gamescom. A brand new pocket-sized version of Final Fantasy XV, a Windows PC edition, a VR experience and more were all announced as coming this year.

Pocket Edition

Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition is an all new mobile take on the title for Andriod, iOS and Windows 10 devices. Pocket Edition is a complete retelling of Final Fantasy XV featuring a Chibi art-style and an episodic format. The title will play out across 10 episodes, the first of which will be free.

All 10 episodes will be released later this year.

Monster of the Deep

Coming to PlayStation VR in November is the story-driven, fishing expedition game; Monster of the Deep: FInal Fantasy XV.

Players will join Noctis and his crew on a fishing trip across a number of locations throughout Eos. In the story mode, players will come face to face with the monsters that swim beneath the surface. Free-fishing mode lets players put their feet up and take part in a range of fishing challenges.

By pre-ordering Monster of the Deep, players will receive a special dynamic theme and in-game Samurai outfit.

Windows Edition

PC fans will be stoked to learn that Final Fantasy XV will be coming to Windows PCs sometime in the future. Loaded with NVIDIA GameWorks technology, the Windows Edition will include native support for 4K and 8K resolutions, HDR10 and Dolby Atmos.

The Windows Edition will include all additional content released for consoles and a brand-new first person perspective.

Final Fantasy XV is available for PS4 and Xbox One and will be available for Android, iOS, PC and Windows 10 devices.
