Logitech Litra Glow Review

Any streamer will tell you that good lighting is essential to your success with the masses. I mean, what good is a rich personality if you can’t be seen? Even with the best cameras, if you don’t have good lighting, you end up with a ton of grainy, blurry footage. So, a good streaming light like the new Logitech Litra Glow is essential.

Retailing for just $99, the Litra Glow is a cute little light that sits on the top of your monitor to bathe your countenance with a soft glow thanks to its TrueSoft tech and edgeless diffuser. It’s also a breeze to set up and use and pairs perfectly with Logitechs StreamCam. The Litra Glow is no frills and all business with a design that will work on your desktop but is still small enough to pack in your laptop bag for use on the go.

For the price, it’s safe to say that this one is pretty much a no-brainer for amateurs and professionals alike. Let’s go.

Logitech Litra Glow Review

The Litra Glow is a dinky little thing that’s about the size of two stacks of post-it notes. It’s a marvel of compact engineering with rounded edges and a plastic build. The front half boasts a frameless, white diffuser behind which lies proprietary precision sculpted optics lenses that put out bright light without sharp edges or harsh shadows. The back panel hosts physical buttons to power on the light, adjust brightness, and change the color temperature of the light. There’s also a USB Type-C port for power and a cable management slot in the mount.

Speaking of mounts, the Litra Glow sits on a patent-pending, 3-way monitor mount that gives you height adjustment up to 101mm, 360-degree rotation, and can tilt almost 80 degrees forwards. This versatility makes positioning the Litra Glow a breeze, regardless of your setup limitations. You can even remove the Litra Glow from its stand and mount it to a standard tripod thanks to the 1/4 thread. The flexibility in positioning is truly impressive, allowing you to use the Litra Glow like one of those fancy monitor bar lights to make working late nights easier on your eyes.

Shedding Light on Impressive Specs

Looking at the light itself, the specs are actually quite impressive for what you pay. The Litra Glow has a maximum 250 lumen output, making it bright enough to light up your space as if it were daytime. This little thing gets seriously bright. On top of that, it boasts an excellent color temperature range of 2700K — 6500K, giving it a Color Rendering Index of 93CRI, which means something to film nerds out there. Basically, Logitech claims that the Litra Glow can achieve cinema-quality light that renders perfectly on camera.

In my testing, the Litra Glow’s TrueSoft tech worked as advertised. The light was very bright but didn’t cause any harsh shadows on my face. Being able to quickly change the color temps helped me find a look that worked for my sun-kissed African skin. As a budding content creator of sorts, I appreciate that the Litra Glow helps me shoot video on my iPhone late at night, which is when I can record my Shorts and TikToks without interruption from my kids. And thanks to the removable stand, I can use it anywhere as long as I have a USB power source.

Now, while you can control all of the Litra Glow’s functions using the onboard controls on the back, if you really want to get fancy, you’ll have to use the Logitech G Hub software. Not only does this give you handy shortcuts from the taskbar to turn on the light but also pick from one of several handy lighting presets. But you can go even deeper than that with fine-tuned controls to get the exact color temperature and brightness for your signature look.

G Hub also lets you set the light to automatically turn on when you open OBS Studio or Zoom. Even better, if you use a Logitech G keyboard or mouse, you can set quick actions to control the light without having to open up G Hub.

Verdict

I really like the Logitech Litra Glow. For such a small light, it packs a ton of power, control, and versatility. While it’s primarily designed for streaming, I found a lot of utility in it as a video creation light as well as an eye-care tool for all my late-night work sessions. It’s wonderful how easily you can position this light in your setup and create a scene that matches your needs.

There’s very little I can ask more of the Litra Glow except for maybe a full RGB spectrum of light. That way, I could have two — one for my key light and the other as a colored fill light to spice up my scene. But besides that, I have to say that even if you aren’t a streamer or content creator but just need to look better on your work Zoom calls, the Litra Glow is a must-have accessory.
