Gen V teaser trailer and premiere date unveiled

Gen V, the first spinoff from The Boys, got its first proper teaser trailer today in addition to Prime Video confirming its premiere date. Coming to Prime Video in more than 240 countries, Gen V will premiere on Friday, 29 September 2023.

The first three episodes will be made available on 29 September, with new episodes following weekly until the season finale on Friday, 3 November 2023.

The teaser trailer gives fans their first look st life at Godolkin University, “America’s only college exclusively for young-adult superheroes (run by Vought International).” Gen V explores the lives and training of the first generation of heroes to be aware of Compound V.

The teaser trailer is every bit as violent, gory and sweary as you’d expect a spinoff of The Boys to be and introduces fans to the students of Godolkin University. The cast includes “Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Pigossi. Gen V also features guest stars Clancy Brown and Jason Ritter, as well as appearances from Jessie T. Usher, Claudia Doumit, Colby Minifie, and P.J. Byrne, reprising their roles from The Boys.”

According to Prime Videoi’s synopsis, “These young, competitive heroes put their physical and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the school’s highly coveted top ranking. They quickly come to learn that ambition comes with sacrifice, and the difference between right and wrong is not as clear as they once believed. When the university’s dark secrets come to light, the students must come to grips with what type of heroes they are going to become.”
