Redfall vampire slayer Remi De Le Rosa talks about a no-good, very bad night

In the lead-up to the release of Redfall, Bethesda and Arkane are releasing a series of cute, in-universe interviews with the vampire slayers in the game. The latest video features Remi De La Rosa as she recounts the story of the night everything went wrong for her.

Layla and Jacob have already shared their stories and if you’re a fiend for lore, it’s well worth checking these short videos out. They provide some extra context for the story and world of Redfall as well as introducing players to the slayers.

Each video also gives players a look at the different abilities and kit each of the slayers comes equipped with.

Redfall Slayers

Redfall is developed by Arkane (Deathloop, Dishonored) and is set in the fictional town of Redfall, Massachusetts. After a science experiment goes awry, vampires invade the town and isolate it from the outside world. Players choose one of four trapped survivors ti take the fight back to the vampires;

  • Cryptozoologist inventor Devinder Crousley
  • Telekinetic student Layla Ellison
  • Combat engineer Remi de la Rosa
  • Supernatural former US military special forces sniper veteran plus former PMC operator of Bellwether Security Jacob Boyer

Playable in both single-player and co-op, Redfall will be available for Xbox Game Pass on day one. According to Arkane’s Harvey Smith (in an interview with IGN France), while a PS5 version of Redfall was in development when Bethesda was purchased by Microsoft, the PlayStation version was cancelled. Check our Remi’s interview below.

Redfall marks the first Bethesda release since the acquisition by Microsoft to not be available on other platforms. Both Deathloop and Ghostwire: Tokyo were released on PlayStation first due to existing marketing and timed exclusivity deals. However, with those games released and the deals finished, Microsoft and Xbox will now enjoy exclusivity over all future Bethesda titles.

Recent hands-on previews of Redfall spoke highly of the upcoming shooter with local Aussie sites declaring it to be a game to watch out for. Press-Start’s preview said, “There’s so much personality to Redfall, a fictional, sea-locked island town in Massachusetts and likely a stone’s throw from Salem. The four hero characters have big personalities and interesting back stories given Layla’s ability to call upon her vampire ex-boyfriend for help, while Redfall feels like another achievement in world-building from one of the best to do it.”

Well-Played wrote, “Redfall has that signature Arkane flair and vibe to it, but it is a departure from the previous titles that Arkane has collectively produced. Despite some open-world concerns, I’m liking what Redfall has to offer and I’m looking forward to sinking my teeth into the full game come May 2.”

And Checkpoint Gaming said, “At a technical level, the gun play felt good, the powers you have access to feel cohesive and enjoyable, and the skill tree and weapon upgrades you uncover keep you feeling as though you’re constantly progressing and building your character towards your ideal build. 90-minutes in and I wasn’t ready to take my hands off the keyboard and stop playing. It’s a sign of really good things to come.”

Redfall is coming to PC and Xbox Series X|S on 2 May, 2023.
