Shooter McGavin is back in another PGA Tour 2K23 trailer; heaps of new content coming

A new trailer announcing the metric buttload of content coming to PGA Tour 2K23 this month (December 2022) is an absolute winner thanks, in part, to the appearance of Christopher McDonald as Happy Gilmore villain, Shooter McGavin.

A certain demographic of gamers, grew up watching Happy Gilmore, so using Shooter for the PGA Tour 2K23 promos is genius. Aside from clever advertising, this trailer and announcement from 2K and HB Studios are promising a lot of golfing action this holiday season.

A new course, playable golfer, apparel and more are all promised to be added to PGA Tour 2K23 this month.

PGA Tour 2K23

Torrey Pines Golf Course, a 36-hole public course in San Diego, has been added to the game. The Torrey Pines course hosts the PGA TOUR’s Farmers Insurance Open and overlooks the Pacific Ocean. The course has been added free for all PGA Tour 2K23 players.

On December 15, Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag will be added as a playable character in the game. Haag is the “founder and CEO of premium lifestyle brand and gaming organization 100 Thieves.” Alongside Haag’s arrival in the game, a special 100 Holes Challenge will be added to PGA Tour 2K23 in January. Over five weeks, players will “be challenged to play 100 holes per week. Players who complete 100 holes will receive the corresponding reward for that week, the following Monday.”

Between December 8 and 14 players will have the opportunity to take part in the Barstool Break 90 Ladder Challenge. This collab with Barstool Sports will challenge players to “break a score of 90 as many times as they can in 18-hole rounds.” To earn more Barstool branded gear, players simply need to break 90 as many times as possible.

Finally, a range of Greyson Clothiers apparel will be added to the Pro Shop for free this month. Xmas-themed gear will also be available in exchange for VC.

PGA Tour 2K23 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
