Obi-Wan Kenobi debuts on Disney+ on May 25

Now that The Book of Boba Fett has wrapped up, read Paul Verhoeven’s thoughts on that here, it’s time to look forward to what’s next for Star Wars. Today, Disney has announced that Ob-Wan Kenobi will debut on Disney+ on May 25, 2022. The limited series stars Ewan McGregor, reprising his role as well as Hayden Christensen as Vader.

Set 10 years after the events of Revenge of the Sith, Obi-Wan Kenobi deals with the fallout of losing Anakin to the Dark Side. Other actors set to appear include Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie.

Not much is known about the plot of Obi-Wan Kenobi but it’s certainly exciting that we’ll get to see McGregor and Christensen back on-screen in these roles.

Obi-Wan Kenobi

Star Wars television has been hit and miss so far with The Mandalorian being a gigantic hit and The Book of Boba Fett finding less success amongst fans and critics. Obi-Wan Kenobi certainly has the potential to be a megahit and it has the pedigree behind it to do so.

Fingers crossed we’ll get our first look at a trailer soon so we can start to get a feel for what the show will be all about.
