Hello Games announced today that No Mon’s Sky is coming to Switch. I have no idea how this feat has been accomplished, but it’s clear that the Hello Games team are wizards and witches. The entirely, procedurally generated world that is No Man’s Sky and all five years of updates will be available on Switch later this year.
Hello Games founder and creator of No Man’s Sky, Sean Murray, tweeted about the release.
It seems as though No Man’s Sky will be running natively on Switch and this isn’t a cloud version of the game. It’s not clear if players will be able to import their saves from other platforms either. We’ve reached out to Hello Games, but have yet to receive a response.
No Man’s Sky Switch
No Man’s Sky has become a kind of shorthand for games that have rocky releases but are gradually redeemed over time and with lots of effort from the devs. While underwhelming at first, Hello Games has continuously updated and improved No Man’s Sky to the point it’s one of the most vital gaming experiences you can have today.
First launching for PS4 and PC in 2016 it has since been released on Xbox One, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Each and every update and expansion that has been released for No Man’s Sky will be available for Switch at launch.
The release date has not yet been announced, though it is supposed to arrive sometime later this year.
