Amazon’s official trailer for The Wheel of Time gives us our best look yet

With November 19 fast approaching, Amazon has dropped an official trailer for The Wheel of Time. After we got a short look at The Wheel of Time in the teaser trailer, we’ve now been given a far fuller and more impressive picture of how the series has imagined the novel.

Interestingly, the trailer (and much of the promotional material) has focused on Moiraine, her oath and tracking of the old blood in the Two Rivers. While Moiraine was always an important character in the novels, she wasn’t really the focal point of the stories.

Perhaps she’s being used as the conduit for the viewer and a way to introduce the world and its lore. Considering she’s played by Rosamund Pike, we’re likely to see Moiraine take the spotlight a bit more than readers may expect.

The Wheel of Time

According to Amazon’s synopsis;

“The Wheel of Time is one of the most popular and enduring fantasy series of all time, with more than 90 million books sold. Set in a sprawling, epic world where magic exists and only certain women are allowed to access it, the story follows Moiraine (Rosamund Pike), a member of the incredibly powerful all-female organization called the Aes Sedai, as she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers. There, she embarks on a dangerous, world-spanning journey with five young men and women, one of whom is prophesied to be the Dragon Reborn, who will either save or destroy humanity.”

The Wheel of time will begin streaming on Amazon Prime on November 19, 2021. The first three episodes of Season One will be available with episodes released weekly thereafter. The season finale will air on December 24, 2021.
