Fortnite Scores Big With Neymar Jr Event

Fortnite‘s wildly diverse mishmash of content for the Season Six Battle Pass is set to receive its next big star with the arrival of Brazillian soccer icon Neymar Jr on April 28th. Once players download the latest update for the game they’ll be invited to participate in several events and quests all focusing on Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior and his new range of skins and loot.

Unlocking the skins, which are inspired by the colours of the Brazillian flag and Neymar’s legendary on-pitch antics, is as simple as playing the game. The Fortnite island will be home to several new quest givers, soccer players fittingly, who will send you out to complete missions. Do five of these and the base Neymar Jr skin is yours for the taking, with the other variants available through completing Epic Quests. You’ll also be able to unlock custom emotes and banners for all your soccer themed aesthetic desires.

In total there are four Neymar Jr varients to unlock, as well as the Jaguar Strike Pickaxe and Jola Trophy Back Bling. Personally I think the Exhibition soccer uniform looks mightly sleek and both Jaguar armour sets fit right in with the game’s trademark visual flare and camp goodness.

Players are also being invited to partake in a casual combat playlist put together by community creators, the “Go Crazy Arena” which will run till April 30th. In this mode, you’ll duke it out with powerups and infinite respawns as you attempt to be the first to reach 200 eliminations in 8v8 combat. Here you can earn Gold to unlock upgrades and give your team the boost needed to win.

The Neymar Jr skin and “Go Crazy Arena” are part of a takeover event from PUMA, Neymar and community creators. From April 27th till May 5th, Fortnite Creative will play host to a special Parish-themed welcome hub that grants access to the combat arena and the upcoming special limited event, The Neymar Jr Cup. On April 28th you can jump into the cup and try to win some dope custom loot and exclusive emotes. Check out the breakdown of the full rules here and godspeed.
