Microsoft and Xbox are lighting up Sydney’s skies tonight to celebrate Sea of Thieves Season 2

Xbox ANZ has announced it will be putting on a drone show tonight to celebrate the launch of Sea of Thieves Season 2. Since launch in 2018, more than 20 million players have sailed the seven seas, plundered, fought and sung sea shanties.

Recently, Xbox has been teasing fans and players on social media with a map which led to the secret location for tonight’s piratey celebration. Now that the location has been revealed, fans are encouraged to look up to the skies and witness the Sea of Thieves drone show.

Taking place above the Sydney Botanical Gardens, the drone show will begin at 10.30pm tonight (21 April 2021) and will be viewable across  Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Twitch.

Sea of Thieves Season 2

In addition to enjoying the light show, fans are able to participate in the action by using the hashtag #BeMorePirate. There are 50 Ancient Coin and 50 Plunder Pass codes up for grabs during the stream and a very special limited edition Sea of Thieves treasure chest and limited edition controller available for one lucky winner.

Tania Chee, Xbox Lead for ANZ said;

We’re excited to be celebrating the start of Season 2 of Sea of Thieves and thank our Australian fans for all their support over the last three years. 2021 is looking to be the biggest year yet, and we can’t wait to bring even more high seas adventures to Aussies. I would like to invite our fans to tune into our drone show for a harbourside takeover fit for a pirate legend.

Sea of Thieves Season 2 is the game’s latest update and is available for Xbox Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers.

Make sure you tune into the Sea of Thieves drone show tonight and enjoy Season 2.
