MyTeam Limited is a new mode designed to change the way you play NBA 2K21

Announced as part of the NBA 2K21 MyTeam Courtside Report, MyTeam Limited is a new, special way to play NBA 2K21. Only available Friday through Sunday of each week, MyTeam Limited will have new rules each and every time it’s offered.

At it’s most basic, MyTeam Limited is a 5v5 online multiplayer mode where players will compete against other MyTeam players for Championship Rings. However, the different rulesets will make the competition unique each week.

In his example, Executive Producer at Visual Concepts Erick Boenisch says teams may be required to use players who are 23 years old and under. These lineup restrictions will significantly shift the meta of MyTeam.

Another example given is players need to be Ruby or lower. Different combinations and lineup restrictions will be tried and tested each week and will force MyTeam players (who take part) to use a greater number of their MyTeam cards than they otherwise would.

The Championship Rings available in NBA 2K21 MyTeam Limited will be available each weekend. When a player wins a MyTeam Limited game they’ll earn a prize but will have the chance to keep it or trade it in for two other mystery prizes. These mystery prizes could be better or worse than what was offered and they may also include the Championship Ring.

Once a Season ends, players can trade in their Championship Rings for a tiered prize. Based on how many rings a player has, the prize they earn will be of a higher tier and if a player earned every Championship Ring in a Season they’ll earn the grand prize for that season.

To help players understand and identify which players are eligible for any given MyTeam Limited event, a Championship Ring sticker will be applied to their cards while live. A filter will also be included for players to use to help them find the eligible players in their collection.

NBA 2K21 will be available on September 4, 2020.
