Gamers are very passionate about the games they play and have played. Hours spent developing characters, coming up with strategies, solving problems, and failing countless times won’t just fade away when the game ends. That is why collectibles have become more and more popular among gamers along with the game itself. Here are some of the famous items that are just worth it to have, especially for an avid gamer:

1.  Displates

These are basically prints on metal that you can hang in a special wall in your house or game room if you have one. You can choose from a wide selection online and most of the famous games have a variety of prints or creative designs on them.

You can select from Call of Duty, Halo, The Witcher, Fall-Out, The Last of Us, etc. If you have a particular design in mind, you can ask for a customized print and you’ll be the only person to have that particular Displate in the world.

2.  Steelbooks

SteelBooks are covers of limited runs of famous games contemporary or classic, that are made from metal and have especially made design commissioned on the covers. Right now, they are produced by how much demand there is for them. But as games are becoming readily available to download online, hard copies have the potential of having SteelBooks as covers for their discs in the future.

Since Steelbooks have amazing design, the metal plate canvass with a varnished or matte finish, it will look great when you hang them or display them with the cover facing front, rather than shelving them like a regular game. If you have a lot of Steelbooks but with a limited display area, you can just switch them out from time to time to make things look dynamic.

3.  Toy Action Figures

Toys are classic collectibles and can be enjoyed by gamers of all ages, so make sure to be updated with the newest merch. For example, Fortnite has become a global phenomenon and is taking over online games right now. It has become a popular collectible as Fortnite toys are visually pleasing and have a wide selection of designs and characters. This is also a good way to keep your kids active and socially engaging outside of the online community.

4.  Costumes and Replica Props

Wearing your favorite character’s costume is one of the few joys that you can take with you as an adult. Attending fairs and gaming conventions sporting characters from your favorite games along with the other participants has become one of the highlights of these gatherings.

You can have your personal Geralt’s sword, Zireael, from The Witcher that you can hang by the bedside. A couple of the Gears of War 2 Lancers, which you can carry around on Halloween is an awesome prop to go with any warrior-like costume. It’s popular among the kids and gamers alike, they want to take pictures while holding them.

5.  Prints

This is a basic type of collectible, depending on the design and size, you can have prints of the covers and other graphic art of games. You can frame them and hang them on a wall along with your Displates.

There are also limited edition prints and custom prints, which are sold at a higher price but potentially will be very valuable over time.

6.  Life-size Statues

Statues used to be very expensive and are only known as promotional materials for movies. But now, you can order them online at a modest price and you’ll have your own life-size statues of your favorite character doing their famous pose.

7.  Special Edition Controllers

Most classic-loving gamers have to remember the old days, is an old Sega Game Console controller. They usually place it on a stand besides a couple of childhood photos. Now, games have their own designs printed on special edition gaming controllers.

There are two main reasons why people buy these controllers, first is, if it relates to a game they like and secondly if it looks awesome. Because they are special edition, they are usually treated like how your mom treats her favorite china – they hardly use it. So if you have a friend who lets you use their Special Edition Controllers, they are for keeps.

Collectibles and toys are fun to look at and collect especially those that have a cult-following because they tend to increase in value over time. However, a lot of collectors tend to have a hard time letting go of these things – unless they can trade it for something better. Also, one special thing about them is that, if you have kids or if you’re feeling burnt out, you can play with some of your collectibles. You can also make a video about your collection or take photos, just so you can step out of the game for a while. You’ll be surprised how refreshed you’ll feel once you gear up and play again.
