Assassin’s Creed Valhalla doesn’t have regenerating health

During his hands-on with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Adam ‘GrizGaming’ Mathew revealed that Ubisoft’s latest in the series does away with Odyssey’s regenerating health. Instead, players will need to tap D-Pad up to recover.

In order to recover health though, players will need to collect berries and mushrooms from throughout the world. By keeping a stockpile on hand, players will be able to ensure Eivor stays healthy.

That’s not all though, Griz tested out multiple shrooms and berries and discovered some nasty toadstools that will kill Eivor instead of healing.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

In Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, players could regenerate health by losing enemies and leaving combat. Once vanished, health would regen. Valhalla returns to an older style of health recovery for the franchise; one that requires the player to actively heal.

It certainly sounds like it adds an additional layer of strategy and exploration to Valhalla as it forces players to have health items on hand as well as using them to recover.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is launching later this year.
