The Eternal Cylinder is a bizarre open-world survival game coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One

From developer Ace Team and publisher Good Shepherd Entertainment, The Eternal Cylinder is an open-world survival game coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Looking like a combination of Spore, No Man’s Sky and Terry Gilliam’s art from Monty Python’s Flying Circus, The Eternal Cylinder is a bizarre and intriguing looking title.

Set on a far off alien planet, you control a group of “adorable creatures.” In addition to predators and environmental danger, your group of aliens is also threatened by the ever-present, titular cylinder; “a gargantuan rolling structure of ancient origin which crushes everything in its path.”

Featuring real-time environmental destruction, you’ll need to explore, solve puzzles and most of all, survive.

The Eternal Cylinder

Starting at the very bottom of the food chain, you’ll need to evolve and adapt your creatures. As they grow and change, they’ll learn new skills and abilities which help them ” overcome obstacles and escape danger.” The mutations and evolutions you learn are stackable so you can create combos of skills in order to make sure you never play the same way twice.

Coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One later this year, The Eternal Cylinder looks exactly like the strange distraction and escape we need right now.
