Mafia Definitive Edition’s first ‘Narrative Trailer’ might not show any gameplay but it looks bloody good anyway

Hangar 13 and 2K have released the first official ‘narrative trailer’ for Mafia Definitive Edition. At just over a minute long, the trailer doesn’t show any gameplay, as noted by the “Not Actual Gameplay” notation at the bottom of the screen. What this ‘narrative trailer’ does show is the cinematic tone and overhaul Mafia has had.

If you’re familiar with the original game, you’ll be delighted to see some of the old faces appear, albeit in much improved visuals.

You’ll also probably catch glimpses of momemts you remember from the original as a montage of clips plays out. Sadly, as already mentioned, you won’t see any gameplay. My guess is Hangar 13 is making us wait for that.

Mafia Definitive Edition

Mafia Definitive Edition is a made from the ground-up remake of the original game and forms part of the Mafia Trilogy. The Trilogy includes the already released Mafia II: Definitive Edition and Mafia III: Definitive Edition.

Fans can purchase the bundle or each game separately and anyone who owns Mafia III will have been upgraded to the definitive edition. Anyone who purchases the Trilogy digitally before August 28 will have instant access to Mafia II and Mafia III and will gain access to Mafia: Definitive Edition on August 28 when it’s released.

Mafia: Definitive Edition will be available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on August 28.
