Scarlet Nexus is a brand-new RPG franchise from Bandai Namco

Bandai Namco recently announced its new RPG franchise, Scarlet Nexus. Developed by members of the Tales of team, Scarlet Nexus is coming to PC, PS4, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox Series X. Bandai Namco is calling Scarlet Nexus a mixture of JRPG and Action-RPG and from the trailer (below) we can see that the combat is fast-paced and dynamic. This isn’t another Soulsborne, that’s for sure.

Set in the “far distant future.” humans have developed extra-sensory powers thanks to the discovery of a psionic hormone in the brain. However, as humanity enters this new era of human power, mutant creatures, known as Others descend from the sky.

The Others can’t be damaged by conventional weaponry or attacks and seek human brains to calm the pain and torment of their mutation. Using psycho-kinetic abilities is the only way to stop the Others and players step into the shoes of Yuito Sumeragi, member of the Other Supression Force (OSF).

As Yuito, players will explore New Himuka and use telekinesis to battle the Others. In Scarlet Nexus, players use the world and environment as their weapon. “Lift, break and throw pieces of your environment to build your attack combos and lay waste to your enemies.”

Producer, Keita Iizuka said;

The next generation of video game home consoles lets the development team realize the full potential of SCARLET NEXUS.

Players can expect visuals and psychic battles with high resolution and frame rate along with fully interactive real-time battles with dynamic animation. Utilizing Smart Delivery on Xbox Series X also means players can enjoy the best version of SCARLET NEXUS regardless of whether they are playing on the next generation with Xbox Series X or Xbox One.

Scarlet Nexus is coming to PC, PS4, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
