Lenovo launches new Legion 7i and 5i laptops for 2020

Lenovo Legion is one of the more successful budget gaming brands and it is launching new additions to the lineup. The Lenovo Legion 7i and it’s sibling, the Legion 5i will have 10th Gen Intel Core H-series processors and Nvidia’s latest GeForce RTX GPU’s.

The Legion 7i will have a GeForce RTX 2080 Super with Max-G Design for the highest possible performance. The Legion 5i, on the other hand, will max out with an RTX 2060 GPU. Lenovo has also added Nvidia G-Sync support to both models for smoother, tear-free gaming.

Something new to both models is the introduction of Nvidia Advanced Optimus. This iteration of Optimus was developed in partnership between Nvidia and Lenovo. It dynamically detects the current workload and then automatically switches between the Nvidia GPU for heavier loads like gaming or video editing and the IGP for lighter loads. This should dramatically improve battery life on the laptops.

The new Legion 7i and 5i will be available in the United States starting at US$1199 and US$999 respectively. No word on Australia release or pricing at the time of this writing.
