Two new Masterminds and Maps announced for Resident Evil Resistance

Resident Evil Resistance, Capcom’s upcoming 4v1 asymmetrical PvP mode included in Resident Evil 3 Remake, will include Ozwell Spencer and Alex Wesker as Masterminds it was announced today. In Resident Evil Resistance, one player controls a Mastermind and devises a “deadly course by wielding a strategic deck of cards to create dangerous obstacles to prevent a group of Survivors from escaping.” Survivors must co-operate and use special abilities to survive and escape.

Masterminds create traps, summon monsters, weaponise cameras and more in order to stop the survivors. With today’s announcement, Ozwell Spencer and Alex Wesker join Daniel Fabron and Annette Birkin.

Alex Wesker appeared in Resident Evil Revelations 2 while Ozwell Spencer is a well-known figure in the world of Resident Evil. Appearing in the series only once (a flashback in Resident Evil 5) Spencer was a founder of Umbrella and has been involved in much of the events of the games.

Alex Wesker’s playstyle in Resistance focuses on using traps and “manipulating the map to slow Survivors down with roadblocks and enhanced zombies.” Alex Wesker is also able to summon the Yateveo plant to cause some serious problems for the survivors.

Spencer differs from the other Masterminds who summon B.O.W.s and instead “generates a Disintegration Field that severely damages any Survivor who haplessly passes through it.”

The two maps announced are Casino and Abandoned Park. Check out images in the gallery above.

Resident Evil Resistance and Resident Evil 3 Remake will launch on April 3, 2020.
