Bethesda is selling a Vault Boy Responder T-shirt to raise money for bushfire relief

Like Bungie and its ‘Guardians for Australia‘ campaign, Bethesda has stepped up to raise funds for Australians in need. Today, Bethesda announced that together with Development Plus, Inc., that it was offering a special Responders Australia t-shirt for sale. Available from Bethesda’s Gear store, the Responder’s Australia t-shirt is raising money for Bushfire Relief and is donating 100% of the profits to the Australian Salvation Army.

The shirt itself features Vault Boy Responder on the front, holding a kangaroo. On the back, it features the Responder logo and Fallout Logo.

While the Bethesda Gear store says the t-shirt is black, the images on the store show it in blue.

Unfortunately, while the initiative is a good one, lots of commenters have focused on the controversial nature of The Salvation Army itself. A growing backlash against the organisation due to its anti-LGTI+ stance.

Some commenters mention this as a reason for their lack of enthusiasm for the fundraiser. Others point to the Salvation Army’s perceived lack of getting the money to people who need it.

Sadly, this means that people have decided to refrain from taking part in this initiative. Everyone is entitled to use their money to help however they see fit, however, refusing to get involved means even less money going where it’s badly needed.

The Responders Australia shirt costs $25 USD and international shipping is an additional $25 USD. Current conversion rates make this about $75 AUD so if you do want to purchase the shirt, you might want to get some friends together and get a couple, to split the shipping cost.
