Tennis Australia announced the Fortnite Summer Smash charity trios teams

Over the weekend, Tennis Australia announced the first four teams competing in the Fortnite Summer Smash Charity trios tournament. The Pro-Am event, to be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020, will feature 30 teams. Those teams will be comprised of pro-Fortnite players, content creators, sportspeople, entertainers and more. The teams will be competing for a share of the $100,000 prize pool which will be donated to the winnings teams’ charities of choice.

In 2019, MrFreshAsian was the overall winner of the Pro-Am competition and has teamed up with YouTuber Lachlan and Sydney musician Enschway. They will be taking on the other teams with Harley “MrFrsshAsian” Cambell saying;

I’m so excited that we have international players coming to play in Aus and hopefully I can get 2 Australian Open Charity Pro-Am wins in a row.

Fortnite Summer Smash

2019 Fortnite World Cup Qualifier x2TwinsJordan will join Reuben Styles of Peking Duk and popular gaming personality Muselk as another of the Charity trios.

Elliot “Muselk” Watkins said;

I’m incredibly excited to see the Australian Fortnite community come together for this amazing event. The 2019 AO event was an incredible time, and the inclusion of so many international talent this year should make the 2020 event even more special

AFL player and Brisbane Lion midfielder Mitch Robinson is back for a second year at Fortnite Summer Smash. He’s teaming up with Chiefs Esports player and teammate Slaya and Parth YouTuber Mau.

Robinson said;

From playing in front of 95,000 at the MCG, I never thought I’d play a video game on Margaret Court Arena during the Australian Open. In 2019 the arena and the buzz was something I’ll never forget, it was a first in Australia and I’m so excited to be back again at this years’ AO Summer Smash next weekend.

The final announced team is comprised of Dave Hughes, LazarBeam and Renegades’ newly signed pro player Rel.

The Fortnite Summer Smash will take place on February 1 and 2, 2020. The Pro-Am Charity Trios event will take place on Saturday, February 1, 2020. More teams will be announced in the leadup to the event.

On the Sunday, 90 of the best Fortnite players in the world will take to the stage at Margaret Court Arena and compete for a total prize pool of $400,000 in the Solos event.

Players include BenjyFishy, Mitr0, EpikWhale and World Cup Duo winners Nyhrox and Aqua.

Tickets to the Summer Smash are available from Ticketmaster and start at $10 for kids and $54 for adults. Tickets give access to the entire Australian Open Precinct.
