Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl – Gold is coming to Switch in February

Ever since Diablo III was released for Switch and proved that ARPGs could work on the console, fans have been waiting for the next big release. Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl – Gold might be that game. Developed by Level-5,Snack World is described as a roguelike RPG in which players must crawl “through dungeons in your search for rare treasure, on a mission to seek revenge against the villainous Sultan Vinegar that violated your village.”

Part high fantasy, part comedy and part sci-fi, Snack World could be the perfect travel companion or game to play when you need a good laugh.

Playable by up to four players, Snack World features customisation, loot, weapons, buffs and more. While it looks silly, there’s plenty of game going on underneath to keep you entertained.

Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl – Gold

The story of this game is as follows;

You flop, inches from being a stiff, at the gates of Tutti-Frutti. You remember nothing…but at least you have fabulous new friends to adventure with

Danger threatens the Snack World when the evil merchant Sultan Vinegar attempts to resurrect the Deodragon, Smörg Åsbord. In this quirky adventure, customise your character and join the heroic explorers Chup, Mayo and the gang as they make their way through a slapstick comedy-filled quest to restore order to the castle town ruled by King Papaya.

Dungeons are procedurally generated and feature tonnes of loot, rare treasures, enemies and of course, enormous bosses. Players equip ‘Jaras” to their character which includes weapons, shields and buffing colognes which can be swapped on the fly. Jaras can also be shrunk down to make carrying them easier.

Snacks are familiars, “quirky creatures and kooky characters” that can be summoned to fight alongside you in battle. Both Jaras and Snacks can be traded with your real-life friends too.

While playing through the campaign, players will have the option of participating in side-quests for the residents of Snack World. Finally, the Gold on the end of the title refers to the inclusion of the full game and both expansion packs from the original Japanese release of the title.

Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl – Gold is coming to Switch on February 14, 2020.
