Mortal Kombat 11 Interkontinental Kombat Series kicks off the Pro Kompetition

Warner Bros, NetherRealm and Intersport have announced details of the Mortal Kombat 11 Pro Kompetition for 2019/2020. The Pro Kompetition is the inaugural season of a brand-new esports program for the latest Mortal Kombat installment.

The Interkontinental Kombat series commences in June 2019 and is being run by Intersport. It gives players of all ranks the chance to compete in four online competitions.

The four online tournaments will be held across Europe, Middle East and Australia;

  • August – EU East
  • August – Middle East
  • September – Australia
  • September – EU West

Mortal Kombat 11 kombat series

While there will be four online tournaments, the Interkontinental Kombat series will include several local tournaments. Each of these local tournaments will offer a $1,000 prize pool bonus.

Confirmed events include;

  • 15-16 June – Fighting Games Challenge (Łódź, Poland)
  • 20-21 July – Versus Fighting (Birmingham, UK)
  • 27-29 September – U.F.A. (Paris, France)
  • 3-6 October – IgroMir (Moscow, Russia)

Those players who qualify from these events will be invited to compete at DreamHack Winter in Jönköping, Sweden from 29 November through 1 December. With $10,000 on the line and a place in the Mortal Kombat 11 Pro Kompetition finale, the competition is sure to be fierce.

Final Kombat is scheduled for Q1 2020 and will take place in Chicago. The finale will be livestreamed as will all regular season tournaments.
