This new gameplay video from The Sinking City shows how investigations work

Publisher Bigben and developer Frogwares have released a gameplay video for upcoming Lovecraftian detective game The Sinking City.

The video, which shows a mission a few hours into the story, sees Charles Reed looking into something for Mr Throgmorthon. As a respected member of one of the most important families in Oakmont, Mr Throgmorthon entrusts Reed with locating a piece of art.

The mission, titled A Delicate Matter, sees Reed having to locate a missing person and piece of stolen art.

The Sinking City Gameplay

As Reed progresses on the mission, it becomes clear that things are not as simple as they seem.

According to Bigben;

As the investigation unfolds, the player finds out that the story is far more complicated than it first seemed. Without being prompted by the game, the player must question more and more witnesses throughout the town, and use logic to get to the bottom of things.

The video shows players how investigations work in The Sinking City and how players will need to hunt for clues, question suspects and explore Oakmont.

In addition, The Sinking City is now available to pre-order and comes in three versions; Standard, Day One and Necronomicon.

The Necronomicon Edition includes Worshippers of the Necronomicon pack, and the Investigator Pack DLC.

The Sinking City will be available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on June 27, 2019.
