2K has announced today that Aussie gamer David Hoey is one of the four finalists competing in the WWE 2K19 Million Dollar Challenge. The Million Dollar Challenge will take place during Wrestlemania on April 6.

Hoey joins Roman Droßard from Germany, Stephan T. Benson from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Gregory Davis from Jacksonville, Florida. The four finalists will have support and coaching from WWE Superstars Kofi Kingston, Big E of the New Day, Paige, Ember Moon and the Miz.

The player who comes out on top will have the opportunity to face-off against AJ Styles in a one-on-one match in WWE 2K19 with $1 million up for grabs.

WWE 2K19 Million Dollar Challenge

The competition will take place on Saturday, April 6, 2019, with the semifinals beginning at 4 am AEST. Competition highlights will be able to be viewed on the UpUpDownDown YouTube Channel. Hosted by Xavier Woods, UpUpDownDown is home to WWE gaming on YouTube. The highlights will also be shown on Facebook and Twitter.

Following the semifinals, the finale will take place during the NXT TakeOver Pre-Show at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Fans will be able to tune in at 9.30 am AEST on;

  • FOX Sports digital platforms, including FOXSports.com, FOX Sports App, Caffeine TV, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube;
  • WWE Network and WWE on YouTube;
  • WWE 2K on Facebook and Twitter;
  • The finale can also be watched on-demand on USANetwork.com.

The man standing between the grand finalist and one million dollars, AJ Styles said;

Embracing ‘Never Say Never’ is exactly what these finalists have accomplished in the virtual ring. My journey as the game’s cover Superstar has been absolutely incredible, and it’s all now leading to an epic showdown at Barclays Centre, with the WWE Universe able to watch all the action in a variety of ways.

The WWE 2K19 Million Dollar Challenge finale will be nothing short of phenomenal.

Hoey said;

If I win the MDC I would take a few weeks to process it all and try not to spend a cent. Then I would buy front row seats to every remaining WWE pay-per-view of 2019, pay off my university fees, put a deposit on a house, film a movie, pre-order WWE 2K20 and then put the rest towards a good cause.

To secure his place, Hoey had to complete the Million Dollar Tower in-game and submit a promotional video showing how they would defeat AJ Style in a one-on-one match.

We’ll be cheering for him as he competes for the ultimate prize.

WWE 2K19 is available now.
