Real-time investigation game The Occupation shows us its gameplay

In The Occupation, developed by White Paper Games, players will be investigating an explosion. The game takes place in real-time and as a whistle-blowing journalist, players will need to use their investigative skills to get to the bottom of the story.

The explosion in question has led to the enactment of a controversial government act which will erode civil liberties. This act is being quickly rushed into action and players will need to work to discover the real cause of the explosion and the real reasons behind it.

According to the developer;

It’s 1987 in North West England; A time of 80’s British pop, grand architecture and political unrest. An explosion has triggered a controversial act which threatens to erode civil liberties of the population to be rushed into place.

The Occupation

In the video below, we get a look at some gameplay in The Occupation as it shows how players are able to take many different approaches to each situation. In the game, you’ll need to decide whether you’ll push forward, saving time but risking getting caught or planning carefully and being cunning, but losing precious time.

The Occupation looks to be a careful balancing act and will push players to solve the mystery before time runs out.

It will be available for PS4 and Xbox One on March 5.
