Predator League 2019 Grand Finals – DOTA 2 rules mean some teams have a longer road to winning

At the press conference for Acer’s Predator League 2019 Grand Final, the rules of the competition were laid out for both DOTA 2 and PUBGDOTA 2 will use a double elimination format, which means that the action is going to be hard fought.

For some teams, the road to winning is going to be even tougher. Due to the format, a lottery pick was conducted to determine the brackets each team would be playing in. Those playing in Round 1, will have to win more matches than those in Round 2.

Teams that lose a match will still be able to make it to the Grand Final, though they will be taking a much, much longer path.

Unfortunately, four teams had to be chosen first and in a blind draw GeekFam, Signify, Flash Gaming and yG will be competing in Round 1.

Round 2 will see X play the winner of Geek Fam and Signify’s match while PnX|Indomitus will play the winner of Flash Gaming v yG. Other matches in Round 2 will see Alpha Red take on BOOM ID and LOTAC versus TNC Predator.

The losers of these matches will drop down into the Losers bracket where they’ll be able to claw their way back into the Grand Final, should they be able to secure the wins and defeat the competition.

Best of luck to all the competing teams.
