Classic Valve games now available on Xbox One X Enhanced Backwards Compatibility

Microsoft continues to expand the Xbox One X Enhanced Backwards Compatibility library and has recently added four classic Valve titles. Backwards Compatibility is one of Xbox’s best weapons in the fight for platform dominance in this generation.

Having older games enhanced by Xbox One X makes backwards compatibility even better. To that end, Half-Life 2: The Orange BoxPortal: Still AliveLeft 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 have all been released as enhanced back-compat titles.

When played on an Xbox One X, these Xbox 360 games run at ” a higher resolution and 9X the original pixel count.”

Xbox One X Valve Games

These four Xbox One X Valve titles join the previous 17 that have been released and include Red Dead Redemption and Skate 3. The total number of Xbox One X enhanced backwards compatible games now numbers 21.

According to Microsoft;

Compatibility is important to Xbox, to developers and their games, and our community.

Preserving gaming classics is part of the Backward Compatibility DNA, which is why Xbox One is the only console designed to play the best games of the past, present, and future.

We’ll continue to deliver on our vision of compatibility and grow our current Backward Compatible library

If you already own these titles, you’ll find them in your Xbox One library. Alternatively, you can purchase them from the Xbox Games Store.
