What to expect in Fortnite Season 6

Fortnite Season 6 is underway and just like previous seasons, there is a theme.

In Fortnite Season 6 it’s all about Halloween with some damn fun and quirky skins and other cosmetics for your account. There’s a llama riding noob skin, DJ llama, the Five-tiered cowgirl and even a werewolf.

In addition to these skins, and all the rest, there are plenty of gliders, sprays, toys and emotes. A new addition to the backpack slot in Season 6 are pets.

You can now rampage in battle with your dog, chameleon or dragon, to name a few. Depending on your battle pass tier this will unlock additional colour variants.

Fornite Season 6

What’s new on the Island of Fortnite as Season 6 has wrapped up its first week? To mix things up this time around, the map has once again morphed.

The second the bus enters the fray you are instantly greeted with a swirling whirlpool in Loot Lake. There’s also a large land mass floating around currently hovering above the soccer field west of Tilted Towers.

During Season 5 The Cube that’s currently holding up the floating island left seven low gravity zones which have now become “corrupted” zones. These corrupted zones contain shadow cubes which bend light much like the Predator’s cloaking. This also allows you to phase through walls and the ability lasts 45 seconds.

East of Hunted Hills on top of the neighboring mountain there is now a gothic castle which ties into the motif well. Fatal Fields now has a bumper crop of corn for you and your squad to hide in.

Your position will be given away if you move as the corn will react to your movement. The corn can be destroyed if you want to remove the advantage for others. A formerly under construction building in Retail Row is now open for business as a Halloween Shop.

As with all additions, there are always some things taken away. Some of the Season 5 weapons have been “vaulted”. Impulse grenades, suppressed submachineguns, the light machine gun, bouncers and remote explosives have been removed.

Will this make way for new items or will they return? We will have to wait and find out. All these items however are still available in the playground mode.

Also freshly available for Fortnite Season 6 is cross-play between PS4 and all other platforms. There are now more players than ever getting into the action, which should make Season 6 the biggest and best yet.

Fortnite is free-to-play and PowerUp! received a code for the Season 6 Battle Pass from the developer to cover Season 6.
